Curly lettuce 'Lollo Rossa' is a fast-growing, red-brown curly lettuce with strongly incised leaves and very decorative and soft leaves. This variety is also suitable as a picking lettuce. As a result, natural enemies such as parasitic wasps and ladybugs can better attack the aphids.
All lettuce varieties grow well. Lettuce has a short growth period (6 to 8 weeks) and it is therefore important to prick out/transplant the plants at a young stage. Lettuce is especially tasty when you don't fertilize it too much. If you want to eat every week, sow/plant regularly.
The first sowing under glass can be done as early as March, in the open ground from April. By placing part of the lettuce closer together and harvesting old ones, you can suffice with 1 seed every 3 to 4 weeks. Plant out at 35x35 cm. The harvest is 2 to 3 months after sowing. Shoot quickly.
TIP: ook geschikt als babyleaf (zaaiperiode: mei-augustus)!
