Fennel 'Fino' has few pests of diseases during cultivation. A good moisture supply is important. Fennel bulb is sensitive to night frost.
Fennel can be grown well in spring and autumn in a greenhouse as well as in the open ground. Pre-sow in tray or press pot. Transplant plants to the open ground of the greenhouse. Fennel is interrupted by night frosts, so plant outdoors from early May for an August harvest. Plants can be planted up to mid-July for fall crop. In the fall, it can stand on the field for a long time. Frost damage can be prevented by earthing up the tubers or temporarily covering them. Maintain a row spacing of 40 cm. Thin out in rows at 15-20 cm.
