Leeks 'Blue Green Autumn' suffer from wear and tear in late autumn-winter and can have quite a few frost similarities. Needs a nutritious and deep-drained soil.
The slow initial development is to thinly pre-sow leeks (both summer and autumn leeks) from the end of March to mid-May and only plant them out in April at 40x15cm. Sometimes put together against the winter and cover in case of severe frost. 1 bag for approx. 10 m².
In the winter months the leek 'stands still' and the plant will not grow any further; the storability of the leek in the ground depends on the strength of the winter and the extent to which the leek is in a sheltered spot. We advise growers to closely monitor the health of the leeks during the winter months; and if the leeks show signs of weakness, Advised to harvest all leeks immediately.
