Midi San Marzano Tomato
1962
Midi San Marzano Tomato 'BOL-T-5505 F1' has a unique intermediate resistance to Phytophthora, a fungal disease that can cause considerable problems in the unheated cultivation of organic tomatoes.
The medium-high plants have strong leaves. 'BOL-T-5505 F1' is suitable for outdoor cultivation or in cold greenhouses and produces single trusses with approximately 12 tomatoes each, of approx. 30 - 40 grams with firm flesh. These midi San Marzano tomatoes, with a characteristic long, slightly dented shape, can be harvested separately with or without a crown, but also as a truss.
Intermediate resistance means that a variety is much stronger against a certain disease, but can still be affected by it in the end. Trials have shown that 'BOL-T-5505 F1' performs excellently against Phytophthora.
