Oak leaf lettuce 'Red Salad Bowl' is a slightly curled oak leaf lettuce that is also suitable for picking. The colder it gets, the redder the leaves become. Has a soft leaf with a sweet taste. As a result, natural enemies such as parasitic wasps and ladybugs can better attack the aphids.
All lettuce varieties grow well. Lettuce has a short growth period (6 to 8 weeks) and it is therefore important to prick out/transplant the plants at a young stage. Lettuce is especially tasty when you don't fertilize it too much. If you want to eat every week, sow/plant regularly. The first sowing under glass can take place as early as March, in the open ground from April.
Harvest: the young leaves are very tender, pick regularly or harvest as a head. TIP: also suitable as a baby leaf (sowing period: May-August)!
