Professional cultivation De Bolster's pumpkins have been developed for organic arable farming. Our vining types are remarkably uniform in size and durability. This type of plant has the amount of growing the plot quickly, collecting the herb. Our 'bush' types are particularly productive and allow longer mechanical weed destruction.
Sowing Sow pumpkin seeds on the firm, moist soil layer. This position is exceptionally located at a depth of 3-5 cm. For optimal germination, it is important that the soil at sowing depth has a temperature of at least 18°C at the time of sowing and the following week. Too cold or too wet will slow down the germination process allowing fungi and bacteria to attack the germinating seeds. Germination proceeds very quickly above 22°C, which means that these plant pathogens have less chance to strike.
Harvest and caution As soon as the fruit stem begins to cork and the leaf begins to die, the fruits are ready for harvest. For the best storability, it is advisable to harvest the fruits as soon as possible after the first sign of ripening to prevent any sunburn damage. After harvesting, the fruits are best stored at a temperature between 8°C and 12°C. It is important to keep the pumpkins well ventilated during the warning.
